You are at risk from fire!

Find out what your risks are and how to remove or reduce them with a Fire Risk Assessment.

It is a legal requirement for all non-domestic premises and businesses that have five or more employees to have a written record of a Fire Risk Assessment.  The risk assessment must be suitable and sufficient and carried out by a competent person.

Our competent and highly trained risk assessors will help to keep your business safe and ensure you comply with your legal obligations.  We carry out risk assessments for a wide range of businesses including (but not limited to): Schools, Care Homes, Factories, Warehouses, Shops, Offices, Restaurants, Public Houses, Hotels, and B&Bs.

Fire Risk Assessment

For those who are moving premises or taking on additional premises, we offer a pre-occupation assessment where we can provide advice on what fire safety measures will need to be implemented and these can be put in place prior to occupation. This will save you time and prevent you from having to make changes, which can be costly, further down the line. Please note a fire risk assessment will still need to be carried out once you occupy the premises as putting persons/equipment into the building can create new risks.

Fire Strategy

In all new construction or refurbishments, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 apply. The CDM Regulations require that adequate fire safety measures must be agreed between clients, designers and contractors. For buildings in the planning stage or during building, we can view the building plans and provide a report which determines where fire doors, fire safety signage, fire-fighting equipment, Emergency Lighting and Automatic Fire Detection should be installed and if it is needed. This could vastly save on costs at the early stages of building and help to get building inspection approval.

If you have an electronic fire alarm installed to your commercial premises, you will require a coloured, diagrammatic floor plan of the building showing the fire alarm zones, which should be displayed adjacent to the fire alarm panel, in order to comply with BS5839 part 1. This is required so that the staff can determine where in the building a detector has activated when they read the fire alarm panel. Also required by any attending Fire & Rescue Service Officers who will need to know the layout of the building and where the source of fire is likely to be, saving precious time. In addition to the basic fire alarm zone plan, we can include details of any high-risk areas, highly combustible sources and escape routes etc.
